I’m honored and privileged to send this message as the General Secretary of the College of Anaesthesiologists and Intensivists of Sri Lanka (COAISL) to welcome all participants attending the 38^th Annual Academic Congress (ACC) 2022.

The 38^th ACC was planned to be held on a completely virtual platform due to the unpredictable COVID -19 pandemic waves seen throughout the year of 2021. This will help to continue the rapport among our local and international colleagues all over the world as we are unable to meet physically. Following a very successful completion of an ACC on a complete virtual platform in 2021, we, the organizing committee, along with the college officials, have organized this event in order to make our theme “Ensuring Quality and Patient Safety through Training, Implementation and performance Analysis “a reality.

We have arranged two attractive pre- congress workshops as well as a two-day educational session followed by six post congress workshops. We are greatly honored to have a number of reputed speakers from overseas and Sri Lanka, who will be imparting their knowledge related to anaesthesia, critical care, pain medicine and resuscitation sciences.

I personally invite you to join us at this enriching congress and take the maximum out of this timely event.
